This is easily one of my family’s favorite hearty “country” meals!
If desired, this recipe can be made with turkey. If you do not have white wine, use chicken or veggie broth. If you prefer not to use (or don't have) tarragon leaves, try adding 1/2 tsp thyme.
Mix chicken, mushrooms, onions, celery, tarragon, pepper, and wine. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or high 3-4 hours. Add red pepper and evaporated milk, cover and cook on high 20-25 minutes. Prepare biscuits as directed on package. Thicken sauce with flour or cornstarch if desired. Serve crockpot mixture over biscuits.
