Spicy Shrimp Chowder

This is easily one of our absolute favorites!

Spicy Shrimp Chowder

Cook Time: 8 hours, 40 minutes

This recipe can change time to time! I often add way more celery (I love celery in soups), and have sometimes used green onions. I often won't use white wine, just more veggie juice. Experiment and have fun!


  • 4 stalks celery, chopped (about 2 cups)
  • 1 medium green and/or red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 2 cups eight vegetable juice
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 to 1 tsp ground red pepper
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 pound bag frozen tail off cooked shrimp
  • 1/2 cup rice


Mix all ingredients except shrimp and rice in crockpot. Cover and cook on low 8 hours or high 4 hours. Thaw shrimp, add shrimp and rice to crockpot, stir to combine. Cover and cook on high an additional 30-40 minutes.
