These gooey bars are so tasty. A perfect fall treat!
I love making this in the fall right after we've visited the apple orchard. Use a combination of varieties of apples, or your favorite type.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 pan. Combine cake mix and margarine, stir in 2/3 cup evaporated milk. Spread about 1/2 mixture into pan, bake for 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, melt caramels and remaining evaporated milk over low flame. Place apples on baked mixture, drizzle caramel over apples, then drop remaining mixture by spoonfuls on top. Bake for 30 minutes, until cake is cooked and apples are tender.
Cool completely, cut into bars.
