Slow Cooker Torpedo Dip

Slow Cooker Torpedo Dip

I absolutely love the flavor of Torpedoes, but I have to admit it’s pretty tedious putting them together.  If you want all the flavor with WAY less hassle, try this dip!

Torpedo Dip

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes

2 hours, 25 minutes

Yield: 8-10

Using canned jalapenos will actually make this recipe spicier. If you want a mild version, chop up your own fresh jalapenos to add to the dip. If you don't have salad shrimp, use any thawed, devienned, tail off shrimp and cut into small pieces. Although I say 2 hours cooking time, this really can be served as soon as the cream cheese is melted and everything is heated through.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 2 - 8 oz packages cream cheese
  • 6-8 oz small shrimp (salad shrimp work well)
  • 4 oz can diced jalapenos

Instructions

Fry bacon until crispy. Place cream cheese and jalapenos into 2-3 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle crumbled bacon into crockpot. Cover and cook on low 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Prior to serving, stir in shrimp and cook on high 15 minutes.

Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, toasted bagel chips, or bread cubes.
