Cordon Bleu Appetizers

I am always on the lookout for quick easy appetizers.  With all the gatherings we attend and parties we host, it’s great to have a long list of appetizers to choose from!

Naturally I was thrilled when I tried these at my in-laws home.  My mother-in-law graciously offered the recipe and I was thrilled at how quick and easy they were!  Of course, I made a few modifications of my own, and you should feel free to do the same!

Cordon Bleu Appetizers

Yield: 8-10

From Taste of Home, this recipe is so quick and easy! For added flavor, I have used part plain cream cheese and part chive and onion cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 cup diced fully cooked ham
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • dash of parsley flakes
  • dash of ground mustard (optional)
  • 18 slices French bread (1/2 inch thick)

Instructions

In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and mustard until smooth. Stir in the Swiss cheese, ham and spices. Spread 1 tablespoon mixture over each bread slice; place on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
