I cannot take the credit for this recipe; it was all my nephew. Last weekend, we invited him and his family over for a cookout. I offered chicken breasts and pasta salad. He brought 20 drumsticks and Red Hot Sauce. He used that on 1/3 of them, bbq sauce on 1/3, and then asked “do you have sauces we could mix together for a Thai flavor?”
But of course! He chose the peanut sauce I always have on hand now (due to the veggie spring rolls) and added some chili garlic paste. I gave him some rice vinegar. We tasted it and both agreed it needed something, so I pulled out the Sriracha. Voila! Spicy, flavorful, and oh-so-good, these drummies can be a great appetizer, addition to your cookout, or make a bunch for the main dish.
If you don't have chili garlic paste or Sriracha on hand, try different hot sauces or even curry pastes - just stay towards the garlic flavor rather than the bbq smoky flavor.
