Every year my father in law organizes a fishing trip on Lake Michigan for the guys in our family. One Saturday morning in July, a bunch of them wake up at 3am and go fishing until lunchtime. They usually come home with salmon – A LOT of salmon.
So traditionally that night we grill some on a cedar plank. This year I was smarter than previous years; I cut it into more manageable serving sizes rather than leaving the entire fish in one freezer bag. Which will allow me to make this recipe without having to thaw out an enormous fish just for the tiny bit needed. I’ve taken this recipe to a few different gatherings; everyone loves the salmon with curry flavor.
I have used packaged and canned smoked salmon; it works just fine. I've also added red pepper and hot sauce for a spicier version.
