Our family Christmas tradition is to enjoy a meal of a different ethnicity each year.  This past year we had Peruvian, and many enjoyed this dish so much we had another Peruvian meal, Christmas style, last weekend (without the presents, trees, decorations, and carols of course).

Every year my father in law organizes a fishing trip on Lake Michigan for the guys in our family.  One Saturday morning in July, a bunch of them wake up at 3am and go fishing until lunchtime.  They usually come home with salmon - A LOT of salmon.

Personally I'm having a hard time believing May and June went by so quickly, but here we are with 4th of July upon us.  As one of my favorite comedians has said, holidays for many of us are all about the food (and massive consumption of it).

This summer we're grilling out.  A lot.  Like every day.  I get bored with the same old recipes pretty quickly, so after we grilled through our normal burgers, brats, steaks, chicken breasts, tilapia, and tuna steaks I wanted something new.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.  As the wife of a veteran, we live this day (and Veteran's Day) in remembrance of those who have served and are serving our country.

My family loves stir fry, crab rangoon, egg rolls, you name it.  Making veggie spring rolls seemed a logical next step (because frankly I'm a bit intimidated thinking of rolling my own sushi).

I am always on the lookout for quick easy appetizers.  With all the gatherings we attend and parties we host, it's great to have a long list of appetizers to choose from!

There is always a bottle of Sriracha in our fridge.  Always.  It's like ketchup for us, we never run out.

This is a standard 'dish to pass' that a friend of ours brings to many of our get-togethers.  We like it with Triscuits, but it's good with crackers, bread, bagel, rye chips, tortilla chips, veggies - just about anything!

The kiddos and I are coloring Easter eggs today, which means in a few days I'll be peeling pink, blue, and purple eggs and making these.
